The Challenge
A speciality retailer with three Ipswich-area stores was running an unsupported POS system with on-premises servers at each store. Stock counts were done manually, end-of-day reconciliation was a 2-hour daily ritual, and the owner had no real-time view of sales across the group. The POS vendor had end-of-life'd the platform with 90 days' notice.
What We Did
We assessed five modern cloud POS options against the retailer's actual needs, recommended Lightspeed Retail with integrated Tyro EFTPOS, designed a proper IP networking layer at each store with VLAN separation between POS, customer Wi-Fi and back-office, and migrated all SKUs, suppliers and customer accounts over a single weekend. Stock now syncs in real time across all three stores, the owner has a live dashboard on their phone, and the closing routine takes under 10 minutes per store.
